RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. Carefully read all rules before completing the entry blank.
2. Exhibitors are required to complete their own entry blanks previous to entry time. Closing date of entries will be August 26, 2005, 10:00 a.m. All items entered must be in place before that time. Items will be received from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, August 23, 2005 and from 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 in the Round Building on the Arkansas Valley Fairgrounds.
3. There will be a $1.00 entry fee per item.
4. Judging will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2005. Judging is closed.
5. All articles must be accompanied by a completed official entry blank. All articles must have been made by the person entering the same, and the workmanship of all articles must have been completed within the last year. Items may not have been entered in the Arkansas Valley Fair in previous years. No one exhibitor will be allowed to enter more than one item in each class. Competition is open to all persons, male or female.
6. Professionals may exhibit. A professional is defined as someone who:
has taught a class for a fee in the area of his/her entry(ies). This does not include demonstrations.
has a degree in the area of his/her entry(ies).
has received personal income from the sale of work in the area of his/her entry(ies).
is a qualified judge for work in the area of his/her entry(ies).
7. In judging, the general appearance, suitability to purpose, beauty, style, color, design, cleanliness and material used in the article will be considered as well as the finish and workmanship of the article. In those classes in which no competition exists or if in the opinion of the judges an article exhibited is not worthy of a first award, the judge may award second, third, or no award. A champion of each department will be awarded in the needlework division and in the craft division if in the opinion of the judges an article is worthy.
8. All articles must be a finished piece and any article soiled or defaced by wear is not eligilbe for exhibit or judging.
9. No exhibit will be released before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2005. All entries must be removed by 7:00 p.m. on August 27, 2005. NO EXCEPTIONS. Not responsible for items not picked up. They will be left unattended in exhibit building.
10. If there are enough similar items entered in any miscellaneous category to make a class, they will be judged separately. Decision is up to superintendents and judges.
11. Because of limitation of space, we can guarantee only award winning entries display space.
12. Prize money in the amount of $25.00 will be awarded to the CHAMPION of each department for departments I through XVI. Department XVII (Quilt Show) has additional awards and regulations.
ALL CARE POSSIBLE WILL BE USED TO INSURE THE SAFETYO F THE ENTRIES. HOWEVER, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THEY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS, INJURY OR DAMAGE DONE TO, OCCASIONED BY, OR ARISING FROM ANY ARTICLE ON EXHIBITION WHEN LEFT AFTER CHECK-OUT TIME.
