Definition of a HEAD ON HIT is as follows: When contact is made headlight to headlight. If you make a forward movement towards another vehicles headlights, then turn away at an angle at the last second, you had better hope that the other vehicle doesn’t turn in the same direction at the same time. This would be considered a head on hit.

DISQUALIFICATION!
6. Contact with another car must be made within one (1) minute or you will be disqualified from the heat. If stalled you have two (2) minutes to get your car started and one (1) minute to make contact for a total of three (3) minutes. Hits must be aggressive. Simple contact within the time limit does not constitute combat and could be considered sandbagging, grounds for
DISQUALIFICATION!
7. Any car with 2 wheels out of bounds or off the ground will be black flagged and disqualified from that heat.
8. All drivers and cars must remain in the arena until the judges have officially declared the heat over except in case of fire. All pit crews must stay out of the arena or their cars will be disqualified.
9. A vehicle will be disqualified if the driver’s door comes open during a heat.
10. There will be four heats (heat 1 & 2 and heat 3 & 4), two semi finals & one final event. Preliminary heats will be divided as evenly as possible with entries in each heat drawn by lot. Last four active cars in each heat will advance to main event. Two semi-finals will be held for all cars that did not advance to main event. The last two active cars from the semi-finals will advance to the final heat.
11. If the judges declare you disqualified; you must put your flag down immediately and stop or you will still be “live bait” to be hit. This means shut off your engine. No deliberate hits after flags have been broken off.
12. If the last 2 cars left in the Main Event become stuck together, the winner will be determined in the following manner. The cars will be separated and derby will continue.
13. A substitute driver may be named to a qualified car if needed. The pit steward must be notified prior to the Main Event.
14. A $50.00 protest fee is required to contest another car.
15. All cars in the Main Event must stay in the arena following the race. At this time the derby officials will inspect the top three cars. If any car is suspected of illegal modifications the car or cars will be kept over night for further inspection at a shop of our choice. Car can not be picked up until 5:00p.m. the following day.
